Recently we had the unhappy task of having to sell my brother’s home as part of settling his estate following his untimely loss. Due to some legal issues it had unfortunately taken close to a year before we were able to move forward with the sale, so I was looking to do this as quickly as possible while still trying to get the best possible price to ensure my brother’s 5 children had financial security. Not knowing any Realtors in the area of my brother’s home, I simply walked into the local Remax office and asked for help. Within 5 min I was sitting with coffee in hand and was chatting with Ron Manson, the agent on call. Right from the start Ron was patient, compassionate and understanding. Once he sorted through my ramblings about my brother and learned of the reason for my visit, he carefully mapped out the process to sell my brothers home, including outlining his background and experience as related to home sales within the area of my brother’s home. I’ve had the pleasure of conducting many job interviews in my life and have learned how to tell if a person is blustering or if they are genuine in their claims of skills and ability. Ron fit the latter impression as the right person for the job within minutes of chatting with him and I can honestly say his end performance did not disappoint. Knowing I was looking to sell the home as quickly as I could, Ron set up an appointment with me for later that day to do the home appraisal. As we sat down to set the list price, Ron explained strategies he had to not only sell the house quickly, but to get a good market price. He put the sale sign on the house that day and my wife and I braced ourselves for the inevitable wait period of 1 -2 months, the current average time for selling a home. Imagine our pleasant surprise when Ron called us the next morning to tell us he had an offer on the house. Within 24 hours, I had contracted Ron, listed the house and sold it for above asking price. Now I realize this is an unusual case and the best story any seller could ask for, so my rating of Ron is definitely going to be biased to the positive, but the important message I would like to convey to others, whether buyers or sellers, is that Ron Manson will treat you as a person first, client second. His years of experience and his connections within the world of real estate support our recommending him to anyone and with a high degree of confidence that they will get the same positive end result we experienced (even if not quite so fast). Indeed, we are considering a downsize of our home in the near future and I can say without hesitation that Ron is the person we will call to help with that process. Five out of five star rating!!
